UNC officials met with the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions Friday in Indianapolis, 15 months after the investigation into nine major violations by the University’s football program.
Chancellor Holden Thorp and Athletic Director Dick Baddour were among University representatives who will have an opportunity to defend themselves after hearing the NCAA enforcement staff present its case.
UNC self-imposed sanctions on Sept. 19 including vacating all the wins of the 2008 and 2009 seasons, losing three scholarships a year for three years and paying a $50,000 fine.
Carolina Connection spoke with WRAL reporter Erin Hartness, who was in Indianapolis, about why UNC’s NCAA hearing was so important, what happened at the meeting and what’s next.
