Larry Fedora to be next UNC head football coach
Larry Fedora will be the next UNC head football coach, pending approval by the Board of Trustees Friday, the University said in a release. Fedora will lead the Tar Heels team after his leading the Southern Mississippi University to 11 wins and a Conference USA championship in 2011. "Coach Fedora has a plan and a vision for the future of Carolina football that I strongly believe will make us successful on and off the field," Bubba Cunningham, UNC athletics director, said in the release. Everett Withers, interim head coach who took over after the firing of former coach Butch Davis in lieu of an NCAA investigation, will be coaching the Tar Heels during the Dec. 26 Independence Bowl in Shreveport.
