Chapel Hill’s Playmakers Repertory Company will premiere “The Making of a King: William Shakespeare’s Henry IV & Henry V“ on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Paul Green Theatre (located in the Center for Dramatic Art).
Co-directed by Joseph Haj and Mike Donahue, this play follows the story of Prince Hal from his days as a troublemaking youth, to his emergence as England’s King Henry V during the time of the Hundred Years’ War. It is open to everyone, but Playmakers recommends it for audiences 10 and older.
The play will be performed everyday, excluding Mondays, through Sunday, March 4. Also, starting Feb. 4, 2:00 p.m. matinees will be offered Saturdays in addition to the 7:30 performance and in lieu of Sunday’s 7:30 p.m. performance.
Tickets range from $10 to $45, depending on the day of the performance. Tickets for Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 are $20 for the general public and cheaper for students.
