"Equality Matters" lecture series continues Feb. 23

The UNC Program in Sexuality Studies will host Mark L. Hatzenbuehler on Feb. 23 in Graham Memorial Hall from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The lecture is part of a series called “Equality Matters,” which examines the legal, economic, and social implications of gender equality. Hatzenbuehler’s lecture is titled “Structural Stigma and Mental Health Disparities in Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Populations,” and it will be followed by conversation and dinner.

Hatzenbuehler received his PhD in psychology from Yale University. He is the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholar at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. He received a National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Mental Health to study the mechanisms that link stigma to psychopathology. He also received an award from the American Psychological Association and the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law.
