About

Welcome to the Reese Felts Digital News Project, an experimental, cross-platform news and research project based at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Meet our staff.

The flagship product of the Reese Felts Digital News Project is reesenews.org, a hyperlocal news site that offers breaking news, sports coverage and features about Chapel Hill and the University.

At reesenews.org, you’ll find articles, photos, mini-documentaries and graphics from student staffers, as well as content produced as part of the School of Journalism curriculum. In addition, the site pushes the boundaries of journalism by harnessing the tools available only online, such as interactive graphics and social media.

The site is programmed, designed, reported, packaged and edited by a staff of undergraduate and graduate students.

During the summer of 2012, the Reese Felts Digital News Project is launching a new product, a mobile site that showcases reporting on North Carolina politics.

Let us know how we’re doing.
